Adult Training

Date: 11th Jan 2018 Author: Scout Websites

Happy New Year to everyone! It’s set to be a busy year for North Ayrshire & Arran in 2018. There are a number of events on this year that cover various adult training modules. These are listed below for those interested.

Mandatory Safeguarding and Safety Training

The next Safeguarding and Safety Course will be held on Sunday 21st January at Kilwinning Scout Hall, Ashgrove Road, Kilwinning. The course will start at 13.30 with tea and coffee available from 13.15. The course should finish at approx 17.00.

This will cover the two mandatory courses of Safeguarding and Safety which everyone must do every 5 years. If leaders did the course last time as an actual course in a scout hall they can do the online safeguarding and safety courses. If they did the online course the last time they must do the actual course. There are usually two of these courses offered every year so if this date doesn’t suit other courses will be advertised throughout the year. Anyone interested in attending can book a place on the course here.

Validation Afternoon

We will be holding a training validation afternoon on Sunday 28 January at Ardrossan Scout Hall between 2pm-4pm.  Anyone wishing to come along then please drop us an email so we can ensure there is sufficient training advisors available.  Please ensure you bring all necessary information for validation, if unsure and would like to discuss what is required for validation, then you can still come along and we can go through this with you.

Residential Course Dumfries House

The Region is running a Residential Course 23rd – 25th February at Dumfries House just outside Cumnock. This course will cover modules 5, 6, 8. 9. 11. 12a. 12b. 13. 14. 15. 16. 17 and 19.  Anyone interested in attending this course can book a place here.

Most leaders attend the whole weekend but if, for personal reasons, you are only able to attend one of the days then you can do that but you need to let Karen know. As this course involves arranging accommodation and catering leaders intending to go should contact Karen as soon as possible.

Module 7  Scouting for All

One of the modules not being run on the residential course is Module 7  –  Scouting for All. This is being run on Sunday 4th March at Loans Scout Hall 2pm – 4.15pm. Tea and coffee will be available from 1.45. Anyone interested in attending should book a place here
