Explorer Scouts

The District has Units throughout from Skelmorlie,  Beith, Kilbirnie, Kilwinning,  Bourtrehill, Isle of Arran and the 3 towns (Saltcoats,  Ardrossan and Stevenston).

Each Unit runs its own active programme as well as taking part in District events such as:

  • Indoor Games Night
  • Jamboree on the Air (JOTA)
  • 5 a side Football
  • District Camp
  • District Orienteering Competition

Explorer Scouts have taken part in Jamborees, the Blair Atholl Jamborette, international camps, trips abroad, permit courses, the Explorer Belt and of course the Queen’s Scout Award.

Units and their members are actively involved in youth-shaped Scouting by having a say in the variety of events that are organised in the district as well as deciding what activities are carried out on a weekly basis as part of their units. If you’re aged between 14 and 18 and would like to join in the fun and develop some great skills that look brilliant on a CV, please get in touch!

HM King Charles III has been confirmed as our new Patron, a great honour for UK Scouts.

The King continues a long tradition of the monarch giving their Patronage, dating back to 1912. This was when Scouts was granted its Royal Charter and HM George V became our first Patron.
